Custom made to measure fire surrounds – Here are some of the frequent questions we are asked about our made to measure fire surrounds and custom made fire surrounds. If your question is not answered on this page, please contact us and we will be happy to help with your enquiry.

Sizes you have advertised are not what we are looking for?
Not a problem, they are all made to order to your own size specifications.  Openings, can be made bigger/smaller.

What type of fire are they suitable for?
Solid Fuel, Gas/Electric, Wood burners

How do I clean it?
Natural stone can be cleaned using a sponge, soapy water and a hard brush. It can also be sealed.

Are they made of real stone?
Yes,they certainly are they are not reconstituted or imitation stone.  Each fireplace is carved from a block straight from my local quarry.  Any veins or shells make it unique and personal to you.  A lot of people advertise fireplaces made of stone, however when you look at the small print they are reconstituted material.  My fireplaces are made unique to you.

I have a design/picture in mind of what I would like to have?
Just send it to me and I will give you a quote. You can also mix and match my styles, eg change mantles.

Can I have a contrasting material for the hearth?
Yes, a black slate hearth can be supplied. Contact me for a price

How do I install?
If you have a local builder they can do this for you, I provide full instructions and material they will need. And I am happy to answer any questions they have.  I also provide fireplace installation services, price depending on size and location.

Do you have a showroom?
Its a workshop, where I have some fireplaces on display, and you can also see what I am currently working on. By not having a showroom this enables me to keep cost down and keep my prices competitive. Just let me know when you would like to come.

Do you offer technical advice?
Definitely, just contact me with any questions you have.
